“Rare bit of good news for commuters” - Luke Taylor MP welcomes new morning service from Sutton to start in December
Sutton and Cheam MP Luke Taylor has welcomed confirmation from Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) that a new service will be available to commuters from Sutton station from Monday 15th December
The train company has announced that the existing 08:27 Selhurst to London Bridge via Tulse Hill service will now start at 08:00 at Sutton on weekdays, and will also call at Wallington (08:07) and West Croydon (08:18).
Luke Taylor MP said:
“This is a rare bit of good news for commuters in our corner of London, and comes after repeated calls by myself for residents to see the benefits of rail nationalisation on their daily commute.
“Barely a week goes by when I don’t hear from local commuters that they are fed up with overcrowded trains and a limited timetable, so this new extra service from Sutton station in the morning peak will add incredibly welcome additional seats, and the new timing will be helpful for so many people trying to get into London.
“I’ll keep pushing for more trains and better service across Sutton - including at the less well-served stations like Worcester Park”
