Important Update: Worcester Park Trains

Responding to the news that South Western Rail are implementing a reduced summer timetable from next week until the end of August - meaning trains from Worcester Park will be even more infrequent over summer - Luke Taylor MP said:

"Let me be very clear; this just isn't good enough. It doesn't work for working people who rely on Worcester Park station.

"South Western Rail and the Labour government are letting us down. The frequency of trains at Worcester Park is already shockingly bad - it is still operating a lockdown-era timetable. I receive emails every week from so many of you who are utterly fed up with it.

"I've been pushing the government to sort this mess out ever since I was elected. I have raised this with Ministers several times - but they are refusing to commit to serious action.

"My Liberal Democrat colleagues and I have written to the government to once again express our frustration at this latest update, and our further exasperation at continuing signal failures and overcrowding.

"I am also asking the Transport Minister for an urgent meeting. I want to know if the Government is serious about sorting out the shockingly bad situation.

"We were promised that nationalisation would lead to changes. It has been several months now, and if anything the situation has got worse. Yes, change takes time. But sorting this out should be a priority."
